A6 near Garstang a possible roman road?Roman Garstang

Garstang's Roman History is less certain than many of the town's and cities on the A6. It is likely than a Roman Road followed roughly the line of todays A6 between Lancaster and Preston, however the precise path of this is uncertain. However as today it is likely that if there was a major settlement between Lancaster and Preston it would have been either at or very near to Garstang in that the only major River this road would cross would be the Wyre and the Romans often built towns near to there bridges.
